October 8, 2020: Scale Microgrid Solutions LLC is proud to sign the letter to California Governor Gavin Newsom organized by Advanced Energy Economy and signed by 40 different businesses and organizations.
The letter thanks the Governor for setting California on an accelerated path to expand its clean transportation progress for outlining a vision for a zero-emission future.
We support Executive Order N-79-20, which sets the year of 2035 for a 100 percent ban on the sale of internal combustion engines for passenger cars and pickup trucks within California, with later target dates for similar bans on the sale of internal combustion engine medium- and heavy-duty trucks, and off-road vehicles and equipment. Used internal combustion engine vehicles may still be sold. The Order supports "zero emissions technologies" such as electric vehicles, and accelerated deployment of affordable fueling and charging options for zero-emission vehicles, particularly in low-income and disadvantaged communities.
As stated in the letter, we believe this order will benefit the state's economy, environment, and the health of its citizens. We believe this order sends a clear signal of commitment to the business community and will result in accelerated and expanded economic and private investment in the state. These opportunities will support existing workers and promote pathways for new entrants into the advanced energy workforce.

With the increase in energy demand in California once all vehicles are electric, we will need a managed approach to the load growth. Distributed energy resources combined with managed charging will mitigate the load significantly.
