David Vickerman
Chief Financial Officer
David Vickerman is the Chief Financial Officer for Scale Microgrids, a leading vertically integrated distributed energy company, backed by EQT. With over 25 years of experience, David is responsible for leading and managing all the finance, accounting and M&A functions across Scale’s two main business lines of C&I and Data Center solutions.
Prior to joining Scale in 2026 and over the last 12 years, David spent time as CFO of several private equity-backed energy infrastructure/power platform companies responsible for financial and accounting operations, corporate and project finance, strategic growth, investor relations and including overseeing the financing of over $7 Billion of new energy infrastructure projects/platforms, as well as the acquisition of assets/platforms and the divestment of energy platforms to strategic investors, including Shell.
Earlier in his career, Vickerman worked for an institutional investment fund with over $30 billion of assets under management, where he served as Co-Head of its global infrastructure fund, with a focus on energy/power infrastructure assets. During his time in London, he started and grew an alternative investment fund that reached over $500mln in AUM, delivered top decile 5 year returns and secured a successful exit to Man Group plc.
He is a graduate of Western University in Canada (BSc in Mathematics) and earned an MBA with academic distinction from Wake Forest University in the USA, as well as serving as President of the Student Government. Additionally, David completed the Corporate Director’s Program at the University of Toronto.
David has experience as a Director on Wake Forest University Business Schools’ Board of Visitors and separately was part of a charity that raised funds to raise awareness for the Military and their families.
