Holly (Troy) Benz
Board Member
Holly Benz is a Clinical Professor at the McCormick School of Engineering and Applied Sciences and Director of Northwestern University’s Master of Science in Energy & Sustainability (MSES) Program. She oversees all aspects of the program, including faculty, curriculum, partnerships, and career placement, and teaches graduate-level courses. The program is administered by Northwestern’s Trienens Institute for Sustainability & Energy, where she helped launch MSES beginning in 2018. She has also co-directed Executive Education at the Kellogg School of Management.
Outside Northwestern, Holly serves on the board of Scale Microgrids and advises energy, services, and private equity firms through her consulting practice, Poder Consulting. Previously, she held senior leadership roles at CLEAResult, Schneider Electric, and Centrica/British Gas, spanning P&L leadership, strategy, M&A, and business development across North America and the UK. Earlier in her career, she was a strategy consultant with Bain & Company and Andersen Consulting.
Holly holds an MBA from The Wharton School, an MA from the Lauder Institute, and a BA in Economics from Northwestern University. She speaks Spanish and Portuguese.
