Scale is working with the Santa Margarita Water District to design, finance, build, and operate 12MWh of battery storage systems at their water and wastewater treatment facilities. The projects are designed to increase the resilience of the community’s water supplies while also reducing costs.
The Goleta Water District encompasses an area extending along the south coast of Santa Barbara County west from the Santa Barbara city limits to El Capitan. Scale will integrate battery storage, dispatchable generation, and smart controls with their existing solar energy system.
Scale will help California American Water ensure reliable service in a region facing risks of wildfires and power outages by replacing their mobile diesel generators with 1,000 kWh of battery systems. The project is partially funded by California’s Self-Generation Incentive Program (SGIP) Equity Resiliency budget.
